Awhile back, I faced a very exciting challenge: find the best exotic cookies in San Diego. The discoveries became part of “Cookie Crazed” a 1-page spread in San Diego Magazine. Click through to read more, and find out the best spots to stock your cookie jar.
After exhaustive research (and lots of taste-testing, since several companies sent in an entire box full of different flavors), the cookie picks were narrowed down to the following:
Macarons from Big Joy Family (the strawberry and pistachio macarons were among the best)
Triple Chocolate Espresso cookie from Azucar
Lemon Lavendar cookie from Kuba Kreations
Red Velvet Cookie from The Cravory
White Chocolate and Granola Cookie from Extraordinary Desserts
Peanut Butter Crunch Truffie from Cookie Chew
Coconut Macadamia Nut cookie from Uncle Biff’s
A few honorable mentions that didn’t make the cut because of space constrictions:
“Peanut Butter Greatness” cookie from Cookie Chew (a chocolate and vanilla cookie stuffed with a Reese’s peanut butter cup!
Chocolate Truffle cookie from The Cravory (the dough is made with Lindt truffles!)
Chocolate Chip cookies from Uncle Biff’s (a classic cookie at its buttery best)
